HOOKEY Contracting is a commercial and locally owned business by Reginald and Mandy Hookey.

The business established in 1998, from an opportunity through the Gulf Communities Agreement (GCA), and is a business that provides a service under contract to the Century Mine and various Contractors externally including works that range from Earthworks to Maintenance.

Hookey Contracting have plant, machinery and labour under contract to Century Mine:

  1. Quality Equipment
  2. Skilled employees
  3. Medically fit people (Pre-employment medical & fitness test)
  4. Random Drug Testing (As per Mine Policy)
  5. Alcohol Testing (Conducted daily as per Mine Policy)
• To support all employees working for Hookey Contracting to work safe and prevent accidents in the workplace, and to look out for each other and to deliver a safe work environment and is committed to providing safety at a very high standard.
• Experienced personnel commitment and a wide range of professionalism of our service and to ensure client satisfaction through the services provided.

Hookey Contracting mobilised to the Century Mine site on the 1st of December, 1998. At the time of mobilisation, the company had 3 employees; 2 Operator/Labourer/s and an Administration Officer with one truck on site. Since then the company has grown and currently employs approximately 25 employees with over 40 pieces of equipment in its fleet.

Hookey Contracting is apart of the local GCA community and is a business who will endeavour to employee local GCA people in support of the agreement between the local Aboriginal Native Title Groups and the Mining Company.
